CANVASS PENNSYLVANIA FOR BIDEN There are a number of opportunities for volunteers to knock doors in battleground states-- in particular Pennsylvania. The campaign has enacted measures to prioritize the health and safety of all of their volunteers, staff, and voters. Canvassing is done in a socially distanced manner and PPE. Volunteers will need their own transportation and will have to attend a mandatory virtual training before canvassing. Find the list of canvassing opportunities HERE. There are opportunities in Maine and New Hampshire, but they're doing a real push for Pennsylvania.

Police Reform in Westbrook
The WDTC sent an open letter to the Board of Selectman on Tuesday July 28th asking they take this opportunity to examine and make changes to the contract between the Town of Westbrook and the United Public Service Employees Union Westbrook Police Unit.
In Summary: We are asking the BOS to pursue the following changes in the Police Unit contract:
Remove the section requiring the Town to remove all disciplinary actions after two years.
Change any references to our officers from Constable to Police Officer.
Requiring any officer charged criminally be suspended without pay.
See the letter and response from First Selectman Noel Bishop below.
The WDTC is committed to speaking up and speaking out to promote transparency and accountability in our local government.
