An Evening in Support of Our Comptroller, Sean Scanlon
Local Democratic Town Committee leaders from across the shoreline region are coming together to support Sean Scanlon’s reelection as Connecticut State Comptroller, and we’re excited to invite our Westbrook Democrats to join us. This will be a relaxed, early evening with food, drinks, stunning views of the Connecticut River, and an opportunity to hear directly from Sean about his work on behalf of Connecticut families. This past week, we learned that Devin Carney will not be seeking another term, and Old Saybrook Town Treasurer Barbara Labriola has announced that she is stepping into the race. At the same time, Jane Wisialowski has declared her candidacy for the 23rd District, and we look forward to hearing more about her platform and priorities in the weeks ahead as this important race continues to take shape. The Annual Town Meeting for the Town of Westbrook has been officially scheduled, and residents are encouraged to attend and participate. 📅 Tuesday, April 8, 2026 🕖 7:00 PM 📍 Multi-Purpose Room, Teresa Mulvey Municipal Center 866 Boston Post Road, Westbrook Voters will be asked to act on several important items, including: Setting the date for the Annual Budget Meeting: A vote to designate May 12, 2026 as the date for the Annual Town Budget Meeting, where the proposed FY 2026–2027 town budget will be considered. Election of Volunteer Commissioners: Two (2) Fire Commissioners for three-year terms (through April 2029) One (1) Forest Commissioner for a three-year term (through April 2029) Land Use Department Software Upgrade: Consideration of an appropriation not to exceed $33,000 from contingency funds to upgrade permitting software, as recommended by the Boards of Selectmen and Finance. Town Meetings are a cornerstone of local democracy in Westbrook, and participation makes a real difference.
